Our Vision

Business and economics make this project possible, but we also see the responsibility and have the personal desire to be environmentally and socially conscious with everything that we do. The Balä Beach Resort will fundamentally change the physical landscape of the 24 acres of the Caribbean coastal property where it is located; but it will also have a further reaching impact on the neighboring community of Maria Chiquita and the greater Portobelo surrounding areas as well.

At Balä Beach we want to be different. Many developers think only about the bottom line; creating a plan, selling units, completing construction, receiving the payout - and then the work for them is done. At Balä Beach we are building homes and creating a community. And not just a community within the limits of the resort, but a living, moving, thinking and feeling community that is part of a greater whole. Balä Beach believes in building relationships and understands that it is a part of something bigger.

We at the Balä Beach Resort are excited about the opportunity to work with the surrounding local communities to help the Colon province and all of Panama grow into being the best that they can be. How are we going to do this? First of all, by not destroying the beauty that already exists. The pristine Caribbean coast will be our home. It is the greatest resource to the project and must be protected and preserved at all costs. We will be building this resort as "green" as possible in terms of the way that environmental factors are incorporated into the design for Balä Beach.

Environmental Concern

All waste water produced by the daily operations of the resort will be managed by a cleaning and treatment system that is the best available in the world today. This state of the art waste water management system promises to prevent a single drop of pollutant from ever entering into our Caribbean Sea. The inconspicuous system makes no sound, leaves no odor and is hidden away out of site.

The wastewater is essentially recycled within the resort, treated and cleaned to the point where it can be utilized by the new plants and existing vegetation that make up the landscaping of the resort. Looking at the architectural design of the compound, all structures are built with carefully chosen materials and positioned in such a way as to optimize the amount of natural light that enters the common spaces and living quarters. This intelligent design will allow us to use less energy, reduce cooling costs and ultimately generate less waste.

Social Concern

The Balä Beach Resort also plans to use its influence to give back to the surrounding community, and improve living conditions for all its neighbors to the best of its ability. The resort will create quality new homes and services for its clients, but the actual operation of the resort will also serve to benefit the people of Maria Chiquita and the entire province of Colon. Funds provided by Balä Beach will be used to improve the school and medical center of Maria Chiquita and also pay for the addition of a fire station, garbage truck and ambulance to begin operation in the community.

Money for fresh paint and ornamental plants will also be invested into the community, allowing residents to make improvements on their homes and brighten up their lives. Jobs created by the Balä Beach Resort will employ over 50% of the local employable workforce and multiple small business loans will be provided to many individuals who have never before had access to credit. Working with local officials to create new community programs and adding new jobs at solid wages will help improve lives in Maria Chiquita. The Balä Beach Resort is committed to being the best new neighbor that it can possibly be.
